Has anyone seen Kate & Allie an old sitcom with Susan St. James and Allie played by Jane Curtain. It is seriously one of the funniest shows and it is on Netflix watch it now, which, is how I got interested. Of course it is the 80's and not perfect...but some of the episodes are particularly hilarious.
The following clip is pretty entertaining as it is situated in the context of the L word since it is the lesbian episode
But there are even funnier episodes and they all end with this theme song-the theme song at the end? What a concept. Anyway, I think it's super funny for what it is, a sort of prelude to Sex and the City...
A bakery that just makes cupcakes-sounds too good to be true. But at Happy Cakes, in Denver, cupcakes are their specialty. I became acquainted with the shop after one of my professors told me that she drives there from an outlying suburb-that's how good it is. So what started as a quaint relationship has now turned to deep passionate love-love for cupcakes. By now I have tried almost all of their flavors, my favorites include maple bacon, snickerdoodle, peanut butter cup, cosmo (which Martha Stewart mentioned in her magazine) but most of all Rum and Coke-yummy. While the regular sizes are great if you just stop by the store I would highly recommend pre-ordering the small sized cakes-the perfect one to two bite amuse bouche perfect amount of frosting to compliment the cake. They also make a jumbo size although I cannot imagine anyone choosing to order those.
So check it out: Just look for the Green Dot HAPPY CAKES
I like this song, couldn't find the lyrics anywhere yet since Poseidon and the Bitter Bug by the Indigo Girls is so new. But I like it, I think it will always hold a special place in my heart...
This is my theme song bcuz no one ever knows my effing name and I am like Hey Biotches I'm Hott so you should know me and my name! --
That's Not My Name, THe Ting Tings Four letter word just to get me along It's a difficulty and i'm biting on my tongue and I I keep stalling, keeping me together People around gotta find something to say now
Holding back, everyday the same Don't wanna be a loner Listen to me, oh no I never say anything at all But with nothing to consider they forget my name (ame, ame, ame)
They call me 'hell' They call me 'Stacey' They call me 'her' They call me 'Jane' That's not my name That's not my name That's not my name That's not my name
They call me 'quiet girl' But i'm an 'ayet' (?) Maybe 'Joleisa' Always the same That's not my name That's not my name That's not my name That's not my name
I miss the catch if they through me the ball I'm the last kid standing up against the wall Keep up, falling, these heels they keep me boring Getting glammed up and sitting on the fence now
So alone all the time at night Lock myself away Listen to me, i'm not Although i'm dressed up, out and all with Everything considered they forget my name (ame, ame, ame)
Are you calling me darling? Are you calling me bird? Are you calling me darling? Are you calling me bird?
The other night some of the students in my cohort went to celebrate our professor and my mentor's receiving of an award for being "Out in the Mind" basically teaching stuff about GLBTIQA stuff in her class. We proceeded to drink a bit and have a hilarious time drawing pictures of vibrators, strap-ons, nipple cupcakes and the like because the actual programming pretty much sucked (and not in a good way.) Anyway it was a good time and here are a few photos from the festivities.
